HCA 1011: Palliative Care

In this course, the HCA best practice for a client at the end of life is explored including tools needed to
identify the physical signs of dying and the holistic needs that require attention. This course also addresses the concepts of care of the body after death, strategies related to cultural and religious practices following death, grieving the loss of a client, and meeting care needs at time of death is explored. The overall HCA roles,responsibilities and legal issues are addressed to arm the HCA with knowledge needed in caring for palliative clients and clients at the time of death.
